Missions of the Society

The Anglo-Malagasy Society retains the same aims that were set out when it was founded in 1961, namely to promote links between the United Kingdom and Madagascar by the following means:
  • To further friendship and co-operation between the peoples of the United Kingdom and Madagascar;
  • To establish and foster cultural links between the two nations;
  • To make Madagascar more widely known in the United Kingdom by means of discussions, lectures and functions;
  • To assist British companies interested in establishing and maintaining business relations with Madagascar;
  • To encourage visits of persons from this country to Madagascar and to help them with information wherever possible;
  • To welcome Malagasy nationals, especially students, in this country and assist them to make contacts with people likely to help them understand British life and customs.
